Omniscient P.O.V.

There were three kids sitting together at the creek, close to Spinner's End. Two of them were girls. One of the girls had long, dark red hair and almond-shaped green eyes. The other girl also had long hair, although hers was all brown, save for a few scarlet-colored natural highlights. Her eyes were a bright, ocean blue. The third child, teenager, more like, was a boy with a pale skin a hooked nose, and dark hair that looked like it was in a desperate need of a shower.

But to anyone who saw the trio, it would be obvious that they were having a good time, with the girls laughing and the boy smiling every now and then. In fact, they were having so much fun, splashing water and all, that they did not even notice the sun go down until the full moon was up. The girls, who were standing in the water, gave up on trying to get the boy to join them so they got out of the creek. Once they attempted to dry themselves off, the girl with the green eyes looked up at the sky and said,

"Wow. The moon looks beautiful tonight, don't you think?"

And the moon did, indeed, look beautiful. It had a faint, yet visible bluish glow due to the fact that it was the second full moon of the month on that night, which happened to be the 28th of July, 1973.

" Yeah, it does….but I think we should head back—now. Don't you think so too, Severus?" replied the blue-eyed girl as she turned towards their male companion. Severus jerked his head back towards the girl with blue eyes, as if he had just broken free from a trance of some sort.

"W-what? Oh, yes….yes, we should definitely head back now…."

As all three kids started to leave, they heard a rustle coming from some of the bushes on the outskirts of the forest to their right.

"What was that?" asked the green-eyed girl slowly.

"It's probably just a….rabbit, or something, Lily." Responded the other girl, although she did not seem very convinced herself. Suddenly, there was another rustle, but this one was even louder and seemed rougher than the previous one.

"I don't think that's a rabbit, Scarlette…." Lily said nervously while eyeing the bushes.

Scarlette and Severus shared a look with each other, both knowing that it really was not a rabbit behind that bush. Scarlette spoke up, "We really need to get going,"

Lily and Severus nodded in response, but unfortunately, before any of them could move any further away from the bush or the woods, there was a third and final rustle and an abnormally large wolfish creature leaped out, its teeth bared. All three kids stared wide-eyed at the creature before them, too stunned to move. Scarlette seemed to be the first one to move when she pushed her two best friends forward, away from the creature. When she told them to run, Severus' eyes widened even further. It was as if time had slowed down. As soon as Scarlette made a small move to get away, the creature lunged.
