A/N: Written for WiccanWeasley101's Fanfic Factor Competition. I was supposed to write a Romance/Hurt/Angst story starring one of Arthur and Molly's children as the main character.

I disclaim.

not the end of the world

Wake me up when December ends

- adapted from Green Day's 'Wake Me Up When September Ends'

Everyone around was filled with energy, filled with joy and excitement but he, he was empty.

He sat in the far corner and watched the others dance...no one paid attention to him of course.

What upset him was that they usually they did. Normally, he was the heart of the party, the soul of the party, but now, no he wasn't.

He looked across to Fred, dancing happily with her.

Of course he wasn't the heart and soul of the party. No one really paid attention to George, did they? No, it was always Fred. Fred&George, but never George&Fred.

Fred was the more carefree, yes he was (George didn't deny it) but really, was being fun all that mattered?

Yes, it was all that mattered for the two of them (Fred&George, but never George&Fred). Bringing happiness in times of dark or lighting up the already well-lit room was all what mattered for George and Fred.

Lala, but that didn't matter now.

What he really wanted to know was why did Fred had asked her to the ball. Fred had promised to stay away from her, but look what what he was doing now.

George was hurt.

He had been betrayed by his own twin.

(But as much as people liked to say, they weren't that alike)

Everyone was now happy dancing wildly after the Yule Ball, but not George. George was empty.

Angelina was his. He'd claimed her all those years ago in third year when Lee had claimed Alicia and Fred had claimed Katie.

And just because Katie had gone all fangirl-y over Oliver, that did not give Fred a reason to go snatch her away from him.

George was just empty now. Betrayed by his own twin and future wife (he wished).

It was not the end of the world, he knew, but yet that didn't give him a reason to stop moaning and get over with the thoughts that had engulfed his mind.

But he did feel all lonely, and had negative thoughts generally about the month of December.

Well, he would tell someone to wake him up when December ended. George just wanted to go get lost in his own world of dreams (that mainly comprised of Angelina) and let the month slip away...
