AN - this is a companion fic to my other Star Wars fic, Neelah. Obviously the same spoiler warnings apply - if you haven't read the Bounty Hunter Wars series by K.W. Jetter, then you probably shouldn't read this story.

Disclaimer - I don't own Star Wars, and please don't delusion yourself by thinking that I am that brilliant.

Boba sat in the pilot's chair of his new ship, the Hound's Tooth , preparing to make the jump into hyperspace. If he's had the Slave 1, he'd be halfway across the galaxy by now, but he had to make do with the ship he had right now.

It was really too big for his liking - after all, Bossk HAD been it's previous owner, so it would need to be bigger, but that didn't make him like it any better. He was fairly confident in it's abilities, even though he wasn't as confident in it as he had been in the Slave 1. It was a bit slower that his other ship, but that was probably okay … he was a little worried about that, but one couldn't exactly have everything. Then there was the problem with it's size … it lust made it more difficult to maneuver in tight spots - he knew that it wouldn't go into some of the places the Slave 1 had gone … but at least he had a ship - a way of getting his old life back, even though the entire galaxy believed he was dead.

The first part of his plan was to get the Black Sun to buy the evidence that Kuat of Kuat had fabricated against Prince Xizor. It seemed a fitting place to sell it back to, and a fitting place to start. Then, he supposed, he would go back to doing what he did best - being a bounty hunter.

He wondered what would happen to Neelah - she now had her memory back, but there were probably some tough times ahead on the planet Kuat, after the hereditary owner and chief engineer, or whatever the title he used was, died, there would probably be scores to settle among the ruling Kuati families, and they were not known for being forgiving.

He was trying hard not to think about her, though. It brought up another realm of thoughts that were kind of alarming. And he couldn't afford to get lost in those types of thoughts - not at all. He was Boba Fett, after all, and he had adopted his father's bounty hunters code long ago - and there it was in the code - no friends or enemies, only clients and advocacies. But then … his father hadn't stuck to that part of the code that well … there had been Zam .. But then, Boba reasoned, Zam was different - she was a bounty hunter, and Neelah was not. Or was it different … perhaps he had just learned from his father's mistake, and refused to let himself repeat it.

No, no matter what, that was a path down which Boba Fett was unwilling to go. It was easier that way. No matter what Kuat of Kuat thought, Boba Fett wouldn't allow himself to fall in love.

AN - sorry it was short … but that's the way things are. Hope you liked it, I apologize if you don't … but please review anyway …
