The first time Kakashi had asked Iruka out was when he was ten, and how disastrous that had been!

A ten year old Kakashi marched up to seven year Iruka, intending to ask him out, he had heard of it from some of the older ninja.
Apparently asking someone out was the grown up thing to do when you liked someone and Kakashi liked Iruka very much, besides Kakashi did what most adult ninja were doing, so why not this?
Of course he had never talked to Iruka, whenever he came near Kakashi quickly ducked into some bushes or hid behind some shops, just hid in general.
You see Kakashi was a very shy kid, but he figured asking Iruka out would be a good first step.
How Kakashi came to like Iruka? Well one day when Kakashi was walking home after training he tripped over a rock, Iruka who had been walking somewhere close within his vicinity, had helped him up to his feet.
No one has ever helped Kakashi like that and ever since then, he felt compelled to talk to Iruka, however there was some problems.
Whenever Kakashi went near the other boy, his legs would turn to jelly and his heart pounded so bad that it was sometimes hard to formulate words.
Kakashi took a deep breath, walked up to Iruka (who had his back faced towards him) and poked him.
The younger boy turned around and greeted him with a smile.
Kakashi felt his cheeks heat up. "W-would you like to go out with me?"
Iruka blinked, "Why?"
Kakashi swallowed, good question, "Er, cause…"
Before Kakashi could say something else, Iruka 'interrupted'. "Who are you?"
Now Kakashi felt even worse, Iruka didn't even know who he was! Kakashi fled the scene.

Kakashi groaned at the memory, he wanted to bash himself whenever he thought of it. Of all the things to remember it had to be that!
He damned his good memory and wished for a worse one.
As if his first experience hadn't been traumatic enough, now he was walking up to Iruka, this time as a twenty-nine year old man, and he was going to attempt to ask out Iruka again.
Apparently he had never gotten over his little crush on Iruka and now that they met from time to time Kakashi felt even stronger feelings for the now twenty-six year old teacher.
Kakashi took a deep breath and walked up to Iruka (who had his back towards him) and poked him.
Iruka turned around and smiled and was about to greet Kakashi, but Kakashi interrupted him.
"I-Iruka sensei would you go out with me?" Kakashi's heart was pounding and he felt very, very nervous.
Iruka blinked, "Why?"
Kakashi swallowed, Oh God not this again, "Er, cause…"
Kakashi saw Iruka smile, "Who are you?"
Now that was unexpected. Kakashi didn't know what to do, was he so scarce in the Chuunin's life to even remember him? Heck he was Naruto's teacher, still not known what to do Kakashi decided to walk away and come up with a new plan, but then Iruka grabbed his hand.
"I am just kidding, you probably don't remember…"
"Remember what?" Kakashi wasn't going to let on that he remembered that fact.
"Er, nothing, you were saying before?"
Damn he felt nervous again. "Yeah, so do you want to, I don't know get some Ramen or something at say, Seven?"
Iruka nodded.
