Hello everyone, Paradigm of Writing here with an idea I've had for awhile... a contest! Look down below for further news and somesuch about it! Also, watch me fail at self insert! Yeah, 50 points to Gryffindor for failure! I am a highschool student, so please bear with me on the deadlines, okay? If you have a (-) or hyphen next to your name, it means you are in-progress of posting your contest entry, but haven't finished it. If you have a (x)- the letter next to your name, it means you have completed and posted your contest entry. If you have a (~) or tilde by your name, it means you've been disqualified. Posting was due by the latest of June 2nd, meaning your entry is disqualified. I apologize.

*ATTENTION*- I, have help from two other users on the site. Me, Civerti, and Starryskys102 are the judges. If you get reviewed by anyone other than us three and are claiming that they're judges for my contest, don't believe them. I never asked anyone. We are trying to tackle a story each a day, starting on June 6th, 2015. We should be done by June 15th, 2015. Results will be coming by June 19th by the latest.

The boy spun around in his chair, tossing the wooden ball in his hands towards the ceiling and catching it as it came back down again. He sighed, having thought of an idea for a story in awhile, all his thoughts becoming an incoherent mess. His phone on his desk vibrated, causing his momentary routine to stop to a grinding halt.

He glared at the cellular device, pushing his glasses up to his nose. "What is it now Seri?"

The automotive voice from the IPhone loaded up it's processors. "Paradigm, why aren't you doing anything worthwhile on Fanfiction?"

The boy, also known as Paradigm of Writing on Fanfiction, sighed. "I don't know. Haven't had any good ideas come to me yet. Plus, I'm getting really angry when all of my stories in the Super Smash Bros. fandom are becoming only about the humans and only humans. I mean, Fox, Falco, Wolf, Lucario, Donkey and Diddy Kong, all of the Pokémon-"

"All of the non-human characters, Paradigm?"

Paradigm frowned. "Yes, quite so. All of those characters are being pushed aside for the human characters to be in the spotlight."

"What do you want to do about it?"

"That's the issue Seri, I don't know what to do. I'm one of those writers, the ones who push aside all of the other characters in favor of the humans. It makes the rest of them not so-called people Smashers undesirable and not noticeable. I want to write a story featuring those characters, but then Zelda and Link and Lucina come into the picture screwing me all up. I personally don't have a clue what to do."

"How about reading other people's work and seeing for yourself what happens?"

Paradigm raised an eyebrow, leaning into his phone, brushing his brown hair out of his eyes. "Like... a contest?"

"Uh... sure?" Seri responded back, not really meaning that at all.

"Perfect! Thanks Seri!" Paradigm shouted gleefully, turning on his computer and beginning to create a contest.

Yes... yep. That's exactly how this idea came to me. No lie. Except Seri was my best friend and not my IPhone so... yeah. Anyways, this idea was originally only for The Fanfics Forum in the SSB fandom like we're in now, but I decided to spread it out. I am now hosting...

Comfort Zones DO NOT Exist in Writing Contest, right here in the SSB fandom!

It's simple. You must write or type a 5000 word or less one-shot about one of fourteen characters. You may also write a multi-chaptered story, that by May 31st, has three chapters posted with the minimum total word count being 15,000. One of the main characters must be either Luigi, Zelda, Lucina, Mr. Game and Watch, Kirby, Marth, Greninja, Little Mac, Fox, Lucas, Peach, R.O.B, Diddy Kong, or Duck Hunt Dog (with his bird.) Then, the one-shot or story must be one of these following genres to try and broaden your spectrum of writing. You must include one of these genres- Romance, Mystery, Friendship, Sci-Fi, Family, Angst, Adventure, or Horror. Horror is my personal favorite, if you want to really try and impress me.

You are allowed to use whatever characters you choose, but one of the main characters must be one of the fourteen. You'll get an extra ten points to your score if you ONLY use the characters listed and no one else, but you are allowed to use whomever you want, as long as it follows my above rule.

Any rating is fine, but if it's rated M for Mature, please have some dignity to your name and do not write useless sex, since that is something at my young age I'm not totally experienced with.

Please, do not post until around May. I'll still review it and judge it should you post it earlier than the definite due date, but you will still not know the results till the dates listed below.

You will be judged on the following criteria!

- Grammar (Conventions, Punctuation etc...) ~Out of 100 Points~

- Consistency in P.O.V (First Person, Third Person etc... This also includes tenses [Past, Present, Future]) ~Out of 15 Points~

- If you used a correct character and/or genre. (Anything that is outside these rules is invalidated.) ~Out of 150 Points~

- Word choice ~Out of 75 Points~

- Descriptions and Personality (My strongest quality in writing are my descriptions. This will be focused on just as much as grammar and adhering to the rules. ~Out of 90 Points~

- Believability of the characters/plot. ~Out of 30 Points~

- Turned in on time. ~Out of 50 Points~

Now, with my judging, I'd like a variety. So if there are fifteen fandoms in the contest, I would not like 10 of them to have Zelda as the main character. Same thing for genre too. The entire one-shot and/or story is a total of 510 point scale.

There are three levels of judging. Junior, which is ages (11-14), Teen (15-19), Adult (20-24). If you sign up, please don't give me your age, but just the category you'd fall under due to your age. I will have a top three in each division (should there be that many people in one division), but only the top spot will have the prize. The highest scorers from each division will be the reward winners, like an overall score at a dance competition. In each division, there will be honorable mentions. It means you were close to winning a top spot in the divisions, but just missed it by a smidge.

One entry per person please.

If you are 1st Overall, you will have two one-shots written for you, a favorite/follow, review on two stories of your choice, and be mentioned on my profile for a whole year!

If you are 2nd Overall, you will have one one-shot written for you, a favorite/follow, review on one story of your choice, and be mentioned on my profile for six months.

If you are 3rd Overall, you will receive a favorite/follow, and a review on one story of your choice, and be mentioned on my profile for three months.

If you are 4th Overall, a review on a story of your choice, a favorite/follow, and be mentioned on my profile for one month.

If you are 2nd or 3rd place in your division, you will receive one review on the story of your choice, as well as a favorite/follow.

If you are in the honorable mentions, you will receive a follow from me personally.

Joining is super easy! Just PM me, and I'll gladly accept it. Maximum of thirty-five participants please. Final date to join the contest is March 31st, 2015. When you post your one-shot/story, do something to indicate it's part of my contest whether it's in the summary or author notes of the one-shot/story.

Contest starts today on March 1st, 2015. Final Submission is June 1st, 2015. Judging will happen over several weeks, and final results will be posted on the week of June 15th, 2015. If you are writing a multi-chapter story, please have at least 3 chapters posted by the date of June 2nd, 2015. If you wish, create a DocX Connection and send me your drafts for review and editing. If you are joining, please PM me of updates and notifications when you post your contest entry.

Remember, if you're writing a one-shot, the one-shot must be less than 5000 words to keep my sanity somewhat intact. If you're writing a story, please have at least three chapters finished at a maximum of 15000 words posted by June 2nd, also to keep my sanity. Going over the word limit will result in deduction of points.

Dates may be pushed back depending on the # of people signed up. Keep your eyes peeled for any changes within this document. Look at it once a week if something comes up. I will PM all contestants regardless, but it's a good idea to do, as well as following/favoring me or the story for updates on this. The awards will be the 2nd chapter of the contest story.
