Poetry-prose. Something like an optimistic prep talk for all those people in the army. Have fun reading, though it hardly makes sense. One of my worse poems, though I was actually quite happy about the subject.
Dare.
Dare to dream, of a sunrise that will never end
To challenge expectations
And take on what others deem impossible—
It is the only way to bring your dream alive.
-
Dare to hold to hope, that something will happen
Believe that you can be the one to make it come true,
And never fear that you will fail!
-
Race towards your distant rainbow sunrise,
One step at a time, one moment after another
Rise from the lowest ranks, step higher, step higher!
-
Seek out what is right.
The world will guide the footsteps of righteousness
And then you will find that treasure that you sought.
-
Don't fear danger, for danger is the only way to learn,
The only way to hone your skills and bring new ones,
To open the opportunities—like shining flowers—before yourself
And to be able to reach out to them.
-
Don't fear that you do not have enough—no friends, no companions—
You may feel lonely, but company will be inevitable,
And you will find others to join your journey on the way.
-
Remember the ones you love, for they will be your motivation
When the world seems to be fading into an impossible future,
And they will keep you fighting through every storm,
Bring you memories of what you left behind, to protect.
-
Your goals will aid you, if you only cling to them!
It may seem laughable to others, but if it is true to you,
It will be your guiding force, your unshakable strength.
-
Others may criticise you for who you are
You are the one who holds your life in the palm of your hand!
Let nothing change your course. Keep helping; hold on to your true self.
-
Memories, are they plagues, or are they power?
Sometimes thinking of the past will get you down.
But it can also give you reason to move on,
Directions as to where to head.
-
Sometimes, pain and loss are hard to forget in war.
It can be so sudden, how one you love can vanish like that,
And leave you feeling so empty, feeling like the world will fall on you.
Don't linger—let that memory be the one thing you fight for.
-
You must believe. You are never alone—every step of the way,
There is a true great power above, in the shining skies,
Helping you step over the hard rocks, guiding you by the hand,
Keeping you safe even in the overbearing storm.
-
And through it all—keep optimism in your heart.
Though the sky seems so black and unforgiving,
Though fear and sadness seems to bear down on you like the clouds,
Keep that optimism that you had at the start, and smile.
-
Dare to dream,
Dare to keep dreaming
And keep chasing that mystical sunrise—
It lies just beyond one of these dark horizons.
See what I said? Worst poetry ever.
Anyway, if you follow the stanzas, it's actually a summary of each of the members of Lyndis' Legion's motivations for the war. First stanza is a summary of the poem. Stanza two: tactician. Stanza three: summary for army members. Then from then on, each stanza is for the members of Lyndis' Legion, in order, except for Kent, Sain and Nils. I simply couldn't think of anything to write about them.
