Who are we?

So called humankind?

But what of us, thinketh the pine?

And what of the doe,

Be our sons not her foe?

The wilderness that we claim,

Say we tame, cruelly do we maim.

What right have we as gods?

When will we finally be exposed as frauds?

Damned be our blindness, our arrogant pride.

Who will stop and stand against the tide?

Why always do we say,

What about tomorrow? Come what may?
