String Of Emotions

Disclaimer: I don't own One Tree Hill

AN_ This is just something that I thought was missing from the episode I shall Believe. Season 1 episode 14. This is just something I came up with but yeah. Anyways on with the story.

The water was calm, it was so still. It kind of looked frozen, but it was the beginning of winter, so somehow I don't think so. I continued to stare out into the water. Silence. For the first time I've ever notice nobody was walking on the docks. I sipped the hot chocolate, that I was holding. I felt someone sit down beside me.

"Haley?" I recognised the voice of arrogant jock Nathan Scott.

"I don't want to talk to you." I said, I sipped the hot chocolate again hoping to warm myself up.

"Why aren't you at the hospital?" Nathan asked, I shrugged my shoulders and continued to stare at the water

"Haley, I'm sorry."

"Sorry means absolutely nothing right now, Nathan."

"Haley, I'm sorry."

"I know and right now in this second I don't care." The sound of my voice was starting to sound bitter.

"Hal-"

"Nathan please just leave me alone. I just want to be alone." I said cutting him off

"Why so you can feel sorry for yourself?"

"Shut up Nathan. Right now, in this second my best friend is fighting for his life in a hospital bed. And I can't even see him. Just leave me alone." My voice was started to crack and I could feel my eyes welling up with tears. Nathan must of been able to sense my break down because he pulled me closer to him and held on to me while I started to cry. Everything I had been holding in seemed to just want to vanish. Sometime later, I finished crying and I got out of Nathan's hold and stood up.

"This doesn't change anything. I hate you for using me just to get to Lucas. I thought you changed." I turned around and walked away from the table where Nathan and I had our first tutor session.

I was sitting at the table it was 7:00 in the morning and Nathan was late. I had kind of expected that. A few minutes later Nathan walked over to the table.

"Breakfast of champions." He said as he sat down, he opened the little cracker jack package

"Please let this be a cheat sheet." He said as he pulled out the prize, it was a multicoloured bracelet.

"It's for you." I looked at him and was about to protest but he had already grabbed my hand and slid the bracelet on

"Don't say I never gave you anything."

"Do you see this book? Because this book is me. I am math."
"What's that supposed to mean?"
"It means you can work your whole 'I'm Nathan Scott, Mr. Big shot scoring my touchdowns' on someone else because I-"

"I don't even play football." Nathan said cutting me off
"Whatever. The point is at the end of the day, all your bluster and BS don't mean anything to math because math don't care and neither do I."

"Does English care? Cause I suck at that too."

"Please don't waste my time. I am already taking a huge chance on you because my instincts are screaming that you're full of shit let's just get started, okay?"

I sighed as the memory of the day past, I entered the cafe and started my shift.

It was almost closing time when Nathan came into the Cafe he looked dead tired.

"Nathan I'm not in the mood right now."

"Lucas is awake." I stared at him, he nodded his head." I was there when he opened his eyes. I went to see him."

"Why?" I asked

"Cause I knew you couldn't. I wanted him to know that you were thinking about him. Look, I know that it was wrong to go after you for the reasons that I did. I can't apologize for it. I'm glad I did it. I'm not that person anymore. It's because of you. Let me take you to him."

Hope you enjoyed and if you haven't watched this episode you might want to, It would make a lot more sense. Anyways please review.
