It was a sunny day in districkt thirteen. Bernice was farmin up some food for her fam. She was growing tomantos. She picked some and walked towards her house. She lived in a small shack type place and her family was very poor despite how beautiful she was. Bernie was 17, 5'2, had long straight blonde hair and big green eyes and she was curvy. Everyone in town either had a crush on her or wanted to be her. She was very modest thogh.
On the outside Bernie seemed like a normal pretty girl but she had a load of dark secrets that no one knew about. Whem Bernie was fifteen she was found by a family in the forest outside of the distinct. She had lost all her memories but they were coming back over time. Bernie could remember she was frum the capital and she remembered a boy named Nick... She must have grown up there w. nick but she couldn't really remember!
Today was the day of the reaping. Bern went to her house with the food she had and saw her adopted brother Floyd. Floyd was really tall and hot and had blonde hockey hair and blue eyes. He was gorge but Bernie only thought of him as a brother.
"Hey bern" said floyd.
"hey"
"SO todays the day"
"Yea"
Bernie put the food on the table.
"We have to go soon." Floyd said. Bernie nodded sadly.
"I kno."
The two ate some food before they left for the downtown area where the reaping would occur. Bernie was so scared for her and for Floyd, but Floyd didn't show any fear at all.
They got to the area n were sectioned off into ggroups for their age. Bernie and Floyd were together cause they wer both seventeen!
A woman with a wig on named Uffie was on the stage and she taled about stuff before she drew the names. She said Primrose Everdeen! Bernie knew her as really young twelver year old who wasn't a fighter. Then her sister Katnis screamed that shed volunteer! Bernie couldnt believ the courage.
Anyway Uffie announced the first male contensnt and it was Peta Mallark! But then this rly hot tall guy stepped in and took his place! His name was Gale! This reaping wus like no other!
"But theres something different!" Uffie announced. "There will b not twotributs but four!"
Bernie and Floyd gasped. They thot they weres safe.
"So," uffie continued. SHe picked a name from the jar and Bernie coudlnt believe it. "Bernice Smith!"
Floyd nearly shit his pants. "Bernie no"
Bernie didnt say anythig. SHe was strong. She just walked to the front. She knew no one would volunteer for her. She stood beside the hot guy. Uffie took another name out and it was Floyds! Now Bernie was really upset!
Floyd stayed strong and walked to the front and stood beside katniss and they looked at each other and floyd felt a deep connection...
