With Ruby there below them, a shell as empty as the bitter dispute that divided them, the impasse faded into the shadows. All the harsh words and bitter reasons fell silent.
This—choosing each other—was what remained.
Dean's eyes held apologies for all he'd done (the things he'd thought), while Sam gave voice to soul-deep regret. Their mistakes were far bigger than just two men.
Inside those seconds, forgiveness flowed faster than the blood ominously circling the floor.
I— and Let's— were buried in a spiral of light.
