Hunter ran to Corona, excited. "Guess what?" He said. "I found a way to get back to my world!"

"That's great!" Corona said. "Did you tell Shadow?"

"No," Hunter answered. "I going to tell him after I tell you,"

"O.K," Corona said.

Hunter ran to where the spiders were and found Shadow. "Shadow!" Hunter exclaimed once he saw him. "You'll never believe what I found!"

"What?" Shadow asked.

"I found a way for me to go home!" Hunter answered. "Isn't that amazing?"

"I guess," Shadow said unhappily.

"What's wrong?" Hunter asked.

"You don't understand, do you?" Shadow said, slightly angry. "If you leave, you may never be able to return here and we'll never see each other again!"

"I never thought about that," Hunter said sadly.

Shadow sighed. "You're my best friend," he said. "You helped me realize that I can't do everything by myself, and you always fight for what you think is right. I don't want you to go, because I can't stand the thought of never seeing you again."

"I don't want to leave you, either," Hunter said sadly. "You always tried to stop me from getting myself into more trouble than I can get out of. But I miss my family and friends back home. I loved being a spider rider, but I can't stay here. I have to go home."

"I understand," Shadow said. "If I was separated from my home as long as you have been, I might miss home, to." Shadow said.

"You'll have the other spiders to keep you company," Hunter said.

"But none of the other spiders are like you!" Shadow exclaimed.

"And none of my friends are like you," Hunter said.

"When will you leave?" Shadow asked.

"Right after I say goodbye to everyone," Hunter replied.

"Can't you stay for a few more days?" Shadow asked. "At least one more day together before you leave me forever."

Hunter shook his head. "I've been gone for a long time already," He explained. "I can't imagine how my parents might feel, not knowing where I am."

"They're probably worried," Shadow said.

"I have to leave as soon as I can," Hunter said. "Please understand."

"I do," Shadow said. "I just wish this wasn't true."

"Yeah," Hunter said. " I wish I could go back and forth, so I could see you without leaving my family for a long time."

"Promise me that you'll be careful," Shadow said. I won't be there to protect you, and I want to at least trust that you're safe."

"I will," Hunter said. "And if I find a way to come here and being able to go home when I want, I will."

"Goodbye, Hunter," Shadow said.

"Goodbye, Shadow," Hunter said.

Shadow watched as Hunter left to tell the others about going home. I can't let him go, he decided. He had to stop Hunter from leaving the inner world. But if Hunter knew Shadow was stopping him, he would never forgive him. He had to do it in secret.

Shadow watched as Hunter left. After Hunter was too far to notice him, Shadow began to follow Hunter.
