Just Like That

A/N: This is an idea that's been floating around for a while now, and I thought I'd write it down. It's a drabble, because of all of the stories I've read, I've not seen an outcome like it.

In the end, it was really quite simple.

A few weeks after the whole New Dawn fiasco, and Jess was sitting at the ADD, running updates. She sighed. She was bored. Maybe she should've brought her book in from the car after all – she didn't realise that it was going to be a slow day.

She called across to Elliott and asked him to watch the ADD for five minutes, before grabbing her keys from her handbag, and heading toward the lifts.

Becker slid in, just as the doors were closing.

"Hey." He greeted with a small smile.

"Hey." She returned.

"Where you going?" He asked, his eyebrows furrowing slightly. She grimaced.

"To my car. I didn't realise today would be a slow day. I'm running updates on the ADD, and it's boring, so I decided I'd get my book."

"Oh." Becker said. There was silence for a few seconds. And then-

"D'you wanna go out with me?" Jess blinked a few times, unsure she had heard right.

"Sorry?" She questioned. Becker gave a nervous chuckle.

"I said 'd'you wanna go out with me?' I mean, it's okay if you don't, I-"

"Yes." Jess beamed up at him.

"Right. Good." A smile began to dance across his face, "You busy Friday?"

"Friday's good." She nodded.

"Pick you up at eight?" He asked. Jess nodded again, and Becker grinned as the lift doors opened.

"I'll see you later." He told her, heading out.

"Bye." She said.

And that was that.
