Tyler sat in his room, what would happen on his 18th birthday. Would he go through the same unspeakable terror and pain that seemed to rack his friend each day? Could he have ever taken such a gift in such stride? A pocket-watch in his hands, he contemplated just what his life would be like, yes he would protect the group with his life, but what else could he do, it meant his death if he were found out. Caleb was afraid of becoming what his father had, but maybe he was afraid that the others would become like that. Reid was always using his powers, and a gap was growing, could it become so great that they would simply part ways.
Pogue on the other hand was not worried, he a take life as it comes person, not a live in the moment type like Reid, while Tyler was the quiet protector, and Caleb was a leader. What had happened only weeks ago still played over the quartets faces, and kept them on a leash. Soon, all too soon it would fade become a simple memory. Then what, would the reckless use of power lead them to become just as Chase had. Preying on those close to ascending.
If it came to killing, Tyler already knew he would, he would do anything to protect this gift, this curse, this family, The Covenant.
That is it, at least this time, I am going to try to do one on each of the four. I just felt like Tyler should be first, he is the silent one, the protector. Review, more to come in other titles.
