Hello and happy slightly early Valentine's Day! Anyway, this is my first Professor Layton fanfic and I've never tried writing anything romantic before so sorry if anyone's out of character or if this is boring.

The Day Before Valentine's Day
Claire Slowly scooted herself closer to Hershel. She playfully inched herself closer to him to the point where she was close enough so she could wrap he arms around him and look over his shoulder at the puzzle he was solving. "How's it going?"
Hershel absent-mindedly answered, "It's rather difficult. Where did you find this?"
"I made it myself."
"Really?" He muttered, lost in thought.
Claire let go of Hershel and laid on the grass area outside the University as she looked up at the clouds slowly sailing past them in the sky. She almost dreamily spoke, "You know Hershel, Valentine's Day is tomorrow."
"Yes it is", Hershel was still focusing on the puzzle. It really was challenging; he was even considering asking for a hint.
Claire noticed the confused look on his face, "Come on Hershel, it's not really that difficult, is it?" She looked over his progress, "See? You're almost done!"
"Am I?" The future Professor asked when he realized he had over looked something so obvious. Claire watched as Hershel scribbled all over the red colored paper she had written the puzzle on.
Hershel's pen stopped. He suddenly looked a little embarrassed and his cheeks started to turn a shade of red as he stared down at the answer scribbled in his own handwriting, "Be my Valentine?"
Claire kissed Hershel on the cheek, "I thought you'd never ask."
