A Memory Forgotten Long Ago

As I sat there holding our son
I forgotten what you looked like
As my memory slowly slowly came back
He reminded me of you
From your eyes to your attitude
His ears his ears even reminded me of you
A memory forgotten long ago.
Now he's older he looks more
And more like you
His silver hair, the way he smiles at me
He is an exact copy of you
If you were here you'd agree with me
A memory forgotten long ago
Now I'm gone, he's on his own
All his memory he has of me
But he still looks like you and you will agree
With me
A memory forgotten long long long ago
Now I'm with you I'm home I'm home
We can watch over him together
Or should I say both of them
As I sat there holding our son
I forgotten what you looked like
