Let's just say I'm terrified about posting a story combining two things which I have never written before. :D;; But I gotta take the leap sometime, eh?
Tasteful tearing-apart-of-writing and in-depth critique are welcome, as always.
Very loosely based on the Doma Arc.
.s.
It was the silence that struck her.
It was the silence of finding Mai.
It was the silence of nonexistence.
.s.
She wanted to scream.
She wanted to cry.
She wanted to...
.s.
And she did nothing, only stared at Mai's body, splayed out on the floor in that glory of blonde and violet and black leather.
And she did nothing, only watched as the Pharaoh bowed his head in silence.
And she could do nothing, only sobbed while Honda lifted Mai's body into his arms.
.s.
She cried, for Yugi, for Jounochi, and for Mai. And even for Haga and Ryuuzaki and Varon, because no one, not even her worst enemies, should have to endure the silence she imagined would consume them, trapped in silent stone.
She could move. She could speak and she could scream, but in theory only, because she could not break that silence.
She wanted to...
.s.
She did it then, kissed Mai, tears falling onto Mai's own eyes and looking like Mai herself was crying, and she wished Mai was still around to cry, but she wasn't...
They left the deadly silence, and carried Mai into the world of noise and sunlight, but the silence never left her.
