Stars, Do You Remember?
The night wind had begun to chill,
as he waited quitely outside.
Looking attentively to her fwindowsill
for any movement of life.
The door creaked open, then she sneaked through,
and she quietly closed the door.
Her fear again was born anew,
as she tried to not wake Papa on the upper floor.
He looked at her, with his innocent blue eyes,
"She actually came," he thought.
He looked at the girl as a breeze blew by,
his breathing slowed to a stop.
She sat next to him, in the short light green dress,
and asked him what was wrong.
He said he was leaving, to become one of the best.
And he might be gone for very long.
She gazed up at the winking stars,
as her emotions swelled up inside.
He was going somewhere very far,
And leaving her behind.
She decided to make him promise,
that anytime she was in a jam.
That he would, his own life risk,
to attempt to save her the best he can.
He promised to keep that.
the promise underneath the stars.
To save her from any attack
and to come to her aid, near or far.
She thought of the promise they had made,
in a time span of seven years later
It seemed he had forgotten his promise of aid,
And she whispered, "Stars, do you remember?"
