New Year's Eve 2005

Canada

Raven was sitting reading one of her many books when her mom came up to her.

Her mom took her book from her. "Mom!"

"Raven. Go get ready for the party. I have your clothes are ready for you in your room."

"Fine. But please gimme my book back."

Her mom sighed and gave it back to Raven and Raven went to her room to get ready.

Robin was playing his Dad in basketball.

"Alright! There trying to cut you off on all sides. Where you gonna go?"

"I'm going left right?" said Robin panting and dribbling.

"Yea!" replied his Dad.

Robin faked right and dashed left and got all net.

"Great job! Go for another." said his dad as Robin scored another basket. Then his mom walked in the "mini gym"

"Did we really come all the way here to play more basketball?" said his mom.

Robin and his Dad looked at each other and then back at Robin's mom.

"Yea."

"Well, it's time to stop." she replied.

"Oh, just one more. One more..." said Robin begging. His mom nodded. Then Robin dribbled around his dad and made all net again.

"There's a kids party downstairs in the lobby." said his mom.

"Kids?" said Robin sarcastically.

"Young Adults." said his mom correcting herself.

Later at the party.

Robin walked in with a nice pair of jeans on, a red collared shirt and a lacoste jacket on. Meanwhile Raven was sitting on the couch reading.

Robin was walking around just smiling listening to the karoke that was going on. Then the karokewas over and then were flashing around the lights to see who would be the next two people.

Then light flashed on Robin and Raven. Robin froze. Raven didn't realize until they told her.

"Uh. Guys. Come one... I really don't want to." said Robin as they put him up on stage.

"Um... Excuse me. I was reading... Erm..." said Raven nervous. Robin looked at Raven and then at the screen when the music started.

Robin quickly started to sing.

"Living in my own world... Couldn't understand... That anything could happen... If you take a chance." sung Robin beautifully. He started to walk away until he heard Raven beginning to sing. Raven also looked at the screen shyly.

"I never believed in... What I couldn't see... I never opened my heart."

"Ooo..." sung Robin.

"To all the possibilities..." Raven sung beautifully also. Then both Robin and Raven began to sing together.

"I know! That something has changed. Never felt this way. And right her tonight. This could be the start! Of something new! It feels so right to be here with you...! And now looking in your eyes... I feel in my heart the start of something new...!" By now all the young adults in the lobby gathered around and began clapping to the beat.

Robin started getting into the music and took off his jacket and threw it into the audience.

"Who'd of ever thought that..." sang Robin. Then they both sang.

"We'd both be here tonight." Then Raven sang by herself again for a few seconds.

"And the world looks so much brighter...brighter... With you by my side!"

Then they both sang. "I know! That something has changed! Never felt this way! I know it for real but this could be the start! Of something new! It feels so right. To be here! with you... uh huh. And now looking in your eyes... I feel in my heart... The start of something new..."

Then Robin started singing. "I never knew that it could happen till it happened to me..." Then Raven and Robin sings...

"I didn't know it before but now its easy to see! It's a start of something new! IT feels so right to be here with you... Oh o... And now looking in your eyes... I feel in my heart... That's it the start of something new! It feels so right to be here with you. Oh o... And now looking in your eyes... I feel in my heart! The start of something new... Start of something... new..." Everyone now was clapping so much by the wonderful preformance by them.

"Robin." said Robin putting his hand out.

Raven shook it and said. "Raven. Nice to meet you."

They both got off the mini stage in the middle of the room and walked outside.

"Are you a singer?" asked Robin excited.

"Actually. That was the first time I ever did something like that. What about you? You sounded really good also."

"Yea. The only time you'd hear me is in the shower." Raven laughed.

"Nine! Eight! Seven!" said everyone from inside. They'd started the count down to the New Year.

"Six! Five! Four! Three! Two! One! Hooray!"

"Well... I'd better get inside and wish my mom a happy new year." said Raven.

"Yea. me too. Well, not your mom, my mom... and my dad." said Robin embarrased at his mumbling of words. "But first lets get each other's phone numbers."

They each took each others picture and added their numbers. Robin turned to the fireworks realized Raven walked away.

"You know... This has been the best time of the vacation yet. I'm really glad you came."

He turned around and realized she was gone. Robin smiled and walked back inside.
