Starfire was sitting on the roof of the tower, watching the sunrise.

"Why am I up so early?" she wondered to herself out loud.

"That's what I wanted to know," said a familiar voice.

Starfire turned around to see it was Robin. He shut the door and walked over and sat next to Starfire. He looked at her with a small grin that made her blush a bright red.

"I am guessing you woke up early to do the research?" She asked

"No, I just, woke up. I guess I wasn't all that tired when I went to bed," he replied.

"I see," she said as she turned back to look at the horizon. "It is, beautiful how the sun rises so early in the day."

"Yeah, I know. I love to watch the sun rise; it's the start of a brand new day." Robin looked forward and then a thought went through his mind. She is more beautiful than the day itself. Why can't I ever tell her that? Why must it be so hard for me to look Starfire in the eye and tell her what goes through my head? He turned to Starfire about to speak when she spoke first.

"Robin"

"Yeah"

"I am, glad that you have joined me this morning," she turned and smiled at him the continued on, "I feel that I have something to tell you."

"I have something to tell you too"

"You may go first Robin"

I was afraid she would say that. He thought to himself. How will I tell her? Why do I feel that I need to know? Well, I might as well while it's just the two of us up here.

"I um…I think that I like you, more as just a friend." He said, pulling the collar of his uniform.

"We are the best friends, yes?" she asked

"Well yeah, but this is different. I think that…that you are the most beautiful girl in the world." then he started to think to himself again.

Wow, that sounded cheesy. Why do I sound so cheesy?

He looked at Starfire as she began to speak.

"Robin…I love you." She blurted out. She covered her mouth with a squeak and quickly looked at the sunrise again. I cannot believe I just spoke those words. I did not even think before I said that. She looked out of the corner of her eye to see Robin, with his mouth wide open, looking at her in a daze. Does he feel the sick? She thought to herself.

"Starfire" He finally said

"Yes" She replied. She dropped her hand from her mouth and slowly turned to look at Robin.

"I…I love you too" He said.

"W…what? You…love me. I… I don't know what to say." She said stuttering. She looked at Robin who was moving closer to her face. Is he about to kiss me? She thought. And soon she got her answer. She felt warm lips pressed upon hers. She looked at Robin as he had his eyes closed. So she closed her eyes and kissed back.

Wow, I've never felt like this before. I mean, I never knew that I loved her like this.

They broke from the kiss and stared at each other.

"Robin"

"Yeah Star"

"That was, most delightful" she told him. He looked at her as she smiled at him with her eyes. They both looked at the sun, which had risen into the sky and was know lighting up the city. Robin then noticed something. Starfire had been holding his hand. He looked at their hand joined and he grasped Starfire's hand back.

"Starfire lets go inside and find some breakfast" The boy wonder suggested.

"That would be most wonderful Robin," she replied.

So then, Robin and Starfire stood up and headed for the stairs, still holding each other's hand.
