Amber POV

This was our first Valentines Day together, Sirius and I. We'd been together for two and a half months. I still can't stop thanking James for setting us up together. I was really surprised when Sirius asked me because, well he knows my secret. About me being a Vampire. I'm not very proud to call myself that, but it's what I am, and I wouldn't be here today if I wasn't. So I guess I am kind of proud to be one. I was sitting on a bench in the courtyard at Hogwarts talking to my best friend, Lily.

"So Lily, have any big plans for today?" I asked, James said if I put bin a good word for him to Lily, we would be even.

"No, just like always." She said looking at the floor

"Well, I do know someone you could spend today with."

"No Amber! I said I don't want to date him, he's mean to Severus."

"He's sorry for that! Come on Lily, you're the one who convinces me to give people a chance. Take your own advice for once!"

"Alright fine, I'll consider it. Besides, here comes your boyfriend." She stood up and walked away; I turned around and saw Sirius walking over

"Happy Valentines Day, I got you something." He said kissing me on the cheek

"Aw, you shouldn't have! I got you something to."

"Well, I'll go first. I got you this!" he held out a black rose and a vile of clear liquid with a chain on it, "It's a love potion." He said putting the necklace on me.

"Okay, so mine is kind of far away, so follow me."

I took his hand and we walked down to a pond down past the Whomping Willow. I had found it last time Lupin and I had gone out when he was a werewolf. I was the only one who could control him when he transformed. I guess it's because I get how he feels. And he's one of the few people who can get through to me when I'm hunting. Of coarse I don't eat people, unless they're suicidal. Then they practically come up to me begging to bitten. Other than that, I don't eat people. I covered Sirius's eyes when we were walking into the clearing.

"I found him last week and remembered you always wanted to ride one." I uncovered his eyes and smiled at his awestruck expression. "His name is Buckbeak. I saw him being abused by his old owner. That night I snuck into his house and Buckbeak was glad to come with me. He's been exploring the grounds ever since."

He slowly walked over to the Hippogriff. When he got close enough he held out his hand. Buckbeak rubbed his head in Sirius's hand. Buckbeak was more kind than Hippogriff's are because he's a baby and probably never knew his parents. He was only a little larger than us. Dumbledore said that he was about one to two years old. And he said Hippogriff's live for a very long time.

"Amber… this is the greatest gift anyone has ever given me." He kissed me but I pulled away to tell him something

"The gift isn't over."

"What else can you give me?"

"This summer, for the whole month of July you get to stay with me. Not with my Vampire family, but with my cousins. They're Wizards, and they're kind of my real family. It's confusing."

"This is the best day ever." He said smiling

"Happy Valentine's Day, Sirius."

"Happy Valentine's Day."
