This is a short poem that I literally just made in up like ten minutes ago. I refused to let it leave me until I got to my laptop and typed it. This is my little rhymed of version of what Katniss may have meant by the line "I killed you, and you, and you" in book 3 "Mocking Jay" I don't know why, but that line stuck to me and after reading the entire book I can see why she said it. Please enjoy and tell me what you think.
The sun burns down, drying unshed tears
I wish that I could say the same about my fears
As I walk, stumble in a field of charred bones
I think of this wasteland that we once called "home"
Trapped like rats, when the Hovercrafts came
Bombs blotting the grey skies, like fatal rain
Men, women, and children alike
All suffered the wrath of the Capitol's spite
Unwavering, unmatched is the cruelty of Snow
But I can't erase my part in the massacre, I know
My flying arrow, aimed at the roasted beast
My berries, raising all of Panem to their feet
My defiance, refusing to be a part of the games
My negligence, forgetting that others couldn't do the same
The girl on fire is what caused the fatal rain
Yes this is Snow's doing, but it is mine too
I killed you, and you, and you
Thanks for reading, and please do leave a review and tell me your thoughts on my thoughts of Katniss' thoughts.
