Alright

Summary: I got a roof over my head, the woman I love laying in my bed, and it's alright, alright, I've got shoes under my feet, forever in her eyes staring back at me, and it's alright, alright, I got all I need and it's alright by me. -Darius Rucker.

A/N: Katy had a crappy day and asked for a Julia fic, so I hope this helps.

Disclaimer: I don't own them, zoom in on my empty wallet.

Fox Mulder had never considered himself a romantic man. He wasn't one for bringing home flowers and leaving notes on the bathroom mirror -until he met Dana Katherine Scully. The red head who had rocked his world since the day he met her.

It was nearing two o'clock in the morning and all he could do was lay there and stare at her beautiful face. Her beautiful curls tickled his chest and he pressed a kiss to the crown of her head. His finger tips traced lazy circles on her bare shoulder and she burrowed her head deeper into his chest.

"I love you, Scully." Mulder whispered to her sleeping form.

The day in and of it's self had been simplistic and beautiful. They'd lounged around most of the day, just enjoying each others company. Catching up on re-runs of TV shows, talking about absolutely nothing at all and a water fight that had broke out for no specific reason.

They'd had dinner by the light of the fading sun on their front porch swing. Patsy Cline's 'Greatest Hits' played on the stereo in the house, the music floated out the windows and filled their ears. They sipped five dollar wine from plastic glasses and danced barefoot on their white wash porch.

The sun had faded fast and they had finished off the bottle of wine. Mulder held Scully as they rocked on the porch swing and fireflies lit up their yard like the flashes of a camera. The sky grew pitch black, the c.d. had finished and their bodies melded together as one, sitting their in the dark.

It had been a dance; up the stairs they had went, stumbling and tripping in a way that was ironically graceful. They left a trail of clothes as they made their way through the dark of the hallway and slowly made their way to the bed. In the light of the moon, they collided together -two people who couldn't get close enough to one another, became one.

Now, here they laid.

Mulder wouldn't change one single day of nearly sixteen years. He had everything he ever could dream of, right there in his arms. He still saw forever in her eyes and found solace in her arms -he would until the day he died, that much he was sure of.

"Mulder?" Scully murmured sleepily.

"Sleep." Mulder whispered, kissing her head.

"You okay?" Scully breathed.

"I'm alright." Mulder promised and pulled her closely.

A/N: I don't think this is even 200 words Katy. sorry. haha. I just wanted to write something short and cute and restore Katy's faith in the male species. :)
