Chains

Trapped by my place
Trapped by my duty
To my home
To my family
To my land

I wish one day
To be me
To ride with the rest of my people
To prove my worth
To prove myself to me

But I am a woman
Bound to the hearth
But I am also a warrior
And I long to be free
Free of the chains holding me down
