The carriage finally came around to the church, stopping at the gate entrance. "Thank you very much, sir". Marie said as she hopped out of the carriage. The driver gave her a friendly smile and said, "Your welcome, young lady". The carriage finally drove off, the sound of the wheels bumping across the street. Marie stared at the house again, and then at the gate. The large black gate looked as if it was an entrance to Heaven. She gingerly pushed it, the gate making a loud creaking noise, as if it wasn't opened for years. She walked up the front steps to the door, almost as beautiful as the house itself. When she opened it, she was immediately facing the living room. There was a crimson couch and a glass coffee table and a fireplace at the left of it, looking really dusty as ever. Upon closer inspection, she saw a staircase going up to a room, suggesting it was her room. She finally ran up the stairs to see her new room, clearly excited about what it will look like. She pushed the door open, and her expectations were true. There was a canopy bed and a vanity and a door that led to the bathroom. And there was also a grand piano tucked at the corner of it. She smiled as she went over to the bed and set her suitcase onto it. "I'm certainly going to love it here!" She thought excitedly to herself.

Night had already fallen over the town, the street lamps casting a golden glow on the barren streets. Marie looked out of her window, looking at the night sky. She grabbed a quill pen and a piece of paper, beginning to write a letter to her father, telling of her new accustom. She finally finished her letter, and decided it was finally time to mail it. She ran downstairs and grabbed her white hood. She opened the door to the cool air of the night. "I wonder if I can find a mailbox..." She said as she stepped onto the front steps and towards the gate. She opened slowly, not wanting to cause any noise to wake up the sleeping town. Her black laced up boots hit the pavement, and she started to walk. After what seemed like an hour before she found a mailbox, she finally spotted one, to the end of the street, beside a dark wooded area. "Ah, yes!" She said as she ran towards the black mailbox, careful not to trip over her own feet. As she was about to drop the letter in, she spotted something out of the corner of her eye, what seemed like a black hooded figure. She turned around and saw no one. She continued to try to put the letter in, but this time, she felt the same feeling again. But this time, it seemed to be behind her. "Hello? Is anyone out here? I am not afraid of you!" She said, trying to hide the fear in her voice. She then saw what looked like eyes coming from the wooded area, getting closer and closer. She stepped back as the figure showed itself. It was a grey wolf with a black hood. "Hello little girl. What do you think your doing out here all alone? You shouldn't be out here at night". He said menacingly. She backed farther away, but he got closer to her, his dark red eyes seeming to bore into her soul. She gripped the letter to her father close to her, as if it were her only protection. "Now, now. I'm not going to hurt you". He said. He then chuckled to himself, seeing the fear in her eyes. "Don't worry. This will only hurt a little bit". He lunged at her, claws outstretched. But before he could, she saw him drop before her eyes. And he dropped to the ground with a thud. Blood poured from his body, but the color of it wasn't red. It was a dark black. She suddenly heard another voice. "Run away, now. Before the others come and find you. Quickly!" She obeyed the voice from no where and darted towards the church, still clutching the letter. And all that was left on the empty street was the dead body, and another figure looming over it...
