Sasuke nodded and made a simple signal with his right hand.
Juugo and Suigetsu jumped into action attacking the throng of duplicates. Karin closed her eyes in concentration looking for the real one.
Kakashi pointed downward with his index finger.
Sakura punched the ground creating a rocky terrain on the once flat plain. Sai and Yamato shifted to their positions quietly waiting for further instructions.
Naruto's clones dance throughout the forest attacking, defending, and laughing.
Sasuke's eyes met with Kakashi. Both of them narrowed their eyes and their figures blurred into motions.
Kunais clashed with swords, flesh met with duplicates. And one desperate thought resounded in his head.
Please, let me catch him this time. Please, let me find him. Please, let him come back.
"I found him! Three o'clock, the one to the left!"
With a timed lung, he flung himself in that direction and attacked, chakara concentrated on the palm of his hand.
The collision was a mix of crackling thunder and gusty wind.
His headband fell to the ground as he was blown away. The duplicates all vanished.
Naruto felt a bubble of laughter raise in him. Being the person he way, he let it out. To the surprise of all around him.
Sasuke's eyes narrowed as he watched the blonde laugh.
"Nothing you say will change my mind. I will destroy Konoha."
Nononono!
"I guess it's too bad, you still can't reach me."
The Akatsuki cloak billowed in the wind as he was gone.
Uchiha Sasuke felt his knees give out. Once again, he was unable to reach the sun. He couldn't bring the sun back to Konoha.
Uzumaki Naruto was listed as an S-class missing ninja the very next day. For deserting his village, joining the Akatsuki and plotting the destruction of Konoha.

A/N: Just speculating on Naruto's thought in chp 485. It's just a drabble for a longer piece that I'm doing right now. One that actually expands on the reasons why everything happened to get to this point. But for now I'm not really done and I won't be done for a while. (I didn't realize how long it's been since they first formed as Team Seven and how many events happened in between that)
However, this plot bunny has been bugging me for a while…so! Enjoy for now.
