"And that is due tomorrow…"

Rose sighed and twirled her pencil absentmindedly. She felt someone poke her back. She turned around and smiled at Fred Weasly. She winked at him before turning back around to face Professor McGonagall. The teacher nodded.

"Very well. That's all for today."

The stampede of rushing students almost trampled her. She stayed in her seat until just she and Fred were the only ones left in the room.

Fred put his arm around her waist as they exited the classroom.

"Rosie, can I borrow your notes for Dark Arts?"

Rose giggled.

"Sure Fred."

There were some loud guffaws behind them. Rose turned around. Ron, Fred's younger brother, and a strange dark haired boy were basically on the floor in hysterics. She proceeded to smack Ron on the head with her text book.

"And what's so funny?"

Ron protectively covered his head.

"Oww! Easy!"

Rose placed her hands on her hips and frowned at the other boy.

"And just who are you?"

He smiled, trying not to laugh.

"Harry. Harry Potter."

Rose's eyes widened.

"Oh, goodness. Um, I'm Rose Black."

Harry nodded.

"Nice to meet you. Ron has said a lot about you."

She glared at Ron, making him shrink back.

"Oh, did he really?"

Harry nodded honestly.

"Yes, he said that you-"

Ron slapped his hand over Harry's mouth.

"We have to get to Defense Against the Dark Arts. See you two later."

The two first years walked away. Rose giggled and leaned on Fred's shoulder.

"I'm quite afraid of what he told him."
