A/N: I have no idea where it came from, but I hope you guys like it.

Summary: Naruto comes home after a failed mission, and all he wants to do is take a hot shower and go to bed. Guess what he finds when he gets home?


About failed missions and a certain Kazekage.

Naruto had a bad week, a very bad week. Since he was a jounin instructor now, he and his genin team had been sent on a mission by Tsunade-baasan. The mission itself wasn't even that hard, but due to certain circumstances two of his genins had been hurt in combat and it was entirely his fault. If only he had known he had enemies lurking around trying to find a way to get back at him.

Naruto sighed; he just had the old woman rant around the place telling him he should be more responsible for his actions. All he wanted to do now was take a hot shower and then go to bed. Sighing once more the blonde undressed and took a nice long hot shower, enjoying the feeling of the hot water on his skin.

After his failed mission he had been thinking about a lot of things, especially about his genin team and… the Kazekage, no… Gaara. His Gaara. He missed the redhead since they didn't see each other much. Gaara was always too busy with his work.

Thinking about the redhead Naruto got out of the shower and dried himself off. While walking to his bedroom he noticed something wasn't right. But at the moment he couldn't figure out what it was. And then he saw the bedroom door was open.

Walking inside Naruto saw the curtains were closed, and he usually kept them open. He also noticed candles throughout the bedroom. In the dim light he could see a letter lying on his bed.

He picked up the letter and started reading; it turned out to be a poem;

Once I was trapped,
Trapped in a darkness.
I could not see,
It was blinding my path.
But along the way,
Something happened.
A bright light shone,
Shone down on me.
At first,
I was blinded.
I still could not see,
But I felt.
I felt the warmth,
The warmth of that light.
And that light,
That light is you.
Lighting my path,
You stand by my side.
And for this,
For this I thank you.
And for this,
For this,
I shall always love you.

Naruto didn't know what to say, he didn't know what to think. At that moment, he only knew how much he loved the redheaded boy.

And at that very same moment two strong arms wrapped themselves around the blonde. And for a second Naruto had no idea of what was happening. But then he heard three simple words: I love you. And at that moment he knew, he would always love the redheaded boy from the desert.
