Ok, so I know I haven't written anything for "Misinterpretations" but I'm at a small block with that… I've got some of it figured out but I've been on vacation then starting a new job, etc. I'm really not making excuses I swear! I don't own "The Office" and all that jazz… Enjoy…
He's so self-conscious about it. In all actuality it was the first thing that caught my notice of him. Yes it's big. Yes it's round. Yes, it's his.
When Roy attacked him, the one part of Jim I was worried about was his nose. Roy could have ripped out all his hair, but I would still worry more about whether or not his nose was broken. I couldn't live with myself if I Was the reason Jim broke his nose.
When he smiles, it crinkles just enough for the edges of his nostrils to twitch. Or when he laughs they flare and then this makes his eyes squint and he tilts his head back and I can see a twinkle in them. It all starts with the nose though.
Sometimes when I wake up first, I watch him sleep. More like I watch him breathe in through his nose. It makes that soft inhaling sound that is just so relaxing. Sometimes, I'll even go so far as to trace my finger down the center of his face. I always subconsciously linger at the tip of his nose. There is a small depression there that my finger fits into so perfectly. After lingering at his nose, I continue to trace down the center of his lips (which he kisses in his sleep I might add). When he kisses my finger, I take that cue to kiss his nose. I feel his breath on my neck as he smiles and I get a front row seat of his eyes just as he wakes up. I kiss his nose as he kisses my chin. It's kind of a yin and yang sort of thing really.
Or other times we'll be cuddling on the couch watching a movie in the dark and I'll be able to see the outline of his face in the dark. His nose will be the first thing I see. I'll giggle and tell him he reminds me of Alfred Hitchcock and I'll be able to see the silhouette of his nose twitch into a smile. He'll chuckle softly, kiss my forehead and I'll get to feel his nose rest on top of my forehead. Once in a while he'll smell my hair... with his nose.
About once a month he'll buy Froot Loops and I'll make a wisecrack about him following his nose. "Har Har, Beesly" he'll say to me while hugging me to his side. Sometimes he'll joke about one day when he proposes to me that he'll stuff my engagement ring up his nose. Yeah, I love his nose and everything, but no.
But I digress...
His nose is actually what attracted me to him. Most people think it was his hair, or his eyes, or his sense of humor. Nope, it was his nose. His nose is what affects all aspects of his handsome face. Yes, it's big, it's slightly crooked but it's his.
And I love it.
There you go. A whole one shot about Jim's nose. I'm sure it's been done. I got the inspiration from watching the "Negotiation" episode where Pam tells Jim she's sorry he almost got killed and that Roy could have broken his nose. Yeah… it's kind of lame, I'm sorry. Oh, well, let me know how you liked it!
