The Missing Chapter Of The Giver
The next day, as was usual, Jonas rode his bike straight from school to the Annex room. He was immensely relieved to see the Giver was smiling. "Hello, Jonas, are you ready to start today's training?" asked the Giver.
"I am." Jonas replied so the giver told him to go lay down on the bed. Jonas did as he was told. Jonas faintly felt the Giver put his hands on his back.
Suddenly Jonas found himself on a couch, staring intently at a box Television that had moving pictures on it. Wait, Jonas thought moving pictures? On this television there were colorful odd-looking girls who were in short skirts and had eyes that took-up two thirds of their face. The girls seemed to be in some sort of battle with a woman in gold armor .
As the battle progressed, eleven of the girls and one guy died, however unlike in the memory with the soldier it didn't seem as real. It seemed the figure in the armor was winning when suddenly the other side seemed to be gaining more and more ground. Finally after much suspense and yelling at the television, the figure in the armor lost. Immediately after Jonas screamed, "Yes, Eternal Sailor Moon won."
Then, Jonas suddenly got up and started acting out the show the way he thought it should have been. He was his own character, Eternal Sailor Sun, but he was more powerful than Sailor Moon but as he went on he noticed he frequently got off track and started acting out different things his way.
All to soon the memory had ended and Jonas was back in the Annex room. Then he asked the Giver what that was at the end. Role-playing was the Giver's response. "Why don't we have anything like that here giver?"
"When we moved to sameness they wanted to eliminate laziness so they made sure things that were left would not encourage it."
