"Trip no further, pretty sweeting.
Journeys end in lovers meeting"
From Twelfth Night by William Shakespeare
This is it Rose. The end of our journey and what a journey its been. So many different planets, creatures and adventures. You were brilliant. More than that - fantastic!
There was a man who said that journeys end in lovers meeting. He was a genius. I met him actually…with…err…with Martha. Yeah, William Shakespeare. Good old Bill. He tried impressing poor Martha with his sonnets and we saved the world with a line from Harry Potter but I'm sure you don't care about that.
He was right you know. Lover's meeting at a journey's end. You and the other me. The one who was born in battle.
He's created from me. He is me. Same hair, same teeth, same memories, same everything. Brilliant isn't it? He's me and I left him with you. So you're with me and I'm with you.
Well…not really but the idea was nice. Molto Bene and all that. He's not ginger though. The DoctorDonna and he's not ginger! Does he still sound like her? Poor Donna. I'm sure he's told you what happened to her. He'll have worked it out by now.
Anyway, I'm on my own again. Off travelling the Universe, trying to avoid trouble and running a lot. Its not the same without you. It never will be.
Promise me this Rose. Don't come looking for me again. However different he may seem, he's still me you know. I bet he says allons-y a lot. Wait till he meets someone called Alonso! Allons-y Alonso - I always wanted to say that!
Have a great life Rose. Get married, have children, have a house with carpets, get a mortgage and grow old together.
Love him. He's all I can give you.
Goodbye Rose Tyler.
I…oh you know.
The Doctor. x
