Preface
My name is Elena Gilbert and I have been 17 years old for the past 1000 years. The 2 brothers I love have been around for 1145 years. That's how long we have been vampires for. Stefan is also 17 years old. Damon is 20 years old. Damon fought in the American Civil War until he had enough. He went home and met Katherine Pierce, a vampire. Stefan was already in love with her and Katherine, she compelled both brothers. She also exchanged blood with both of them.
Then one day, one of my ancestors, Jonathan Gilbert, created watch to find creatures of the night. Katherine got caught and the boys tried to rescue her but they got shot by their own father. But Stefan and Damon died with vampire blood in their system, so instead of lights out, they woke up as vampires.
145 years later they returned back to Mystic Falls, their true home. Stefan saved me when my parent's car slid off the road and drowned. I should have died then. I survived. Later I found out from Stefan, I was adopted. My true mum was turned into a vampire by Damon. We also found out that I am a Petrova doppelgänger. Only 2 Petrova doppelgängers existed at the time Katherine, aka Katarina Petrova, and I, Elena Gilbert (Petrova).
The four of us have faced the Originals, Elijah, Kol, Klaus, Rebekah and Finn. Turned out Klaus needed a Petrova doppelgänger to break his hybrid curse. I died again. This time coming back to life thanks to my real father, Jeremy's uncle. But Aunt Jenna died in the same ritual. I died again but with vampire blood in my system and Katherine turned back into a human. We have faced hunters, werewolves, ghosts and witches. That was Mystic Falls.
Storms, tornadoes, earthquakes and tsunamis hit our home. We helped build Panem and the 13 districts. Soon after, the dark days began. Districts 1—12 were defeated and the 13 was destroyed. The Hunger Games started. And because I could never be able to choose between the 2 brothers I came up with a competition. The first one to kill the other shall become my spouse for all eternity.
74 years later and I am getting impatient. Once a year, both of them must fake dying to end the Games. This should be the year. This could also be the year Klaus, Elijah and Rebekah return. This is the year I also enter.
