I opened the door, intending to go for a ride. Crossing the threshold, I was caught off guard.
Mint. Icy mint perused my mouth.
Stone. I was pressed against the cool, stone wall.
Raw. I felt stripped of control, curious, visceral, and frightened. Frozen in time, the moment became infinite.
Blood. Tangy, acrid liquid trickled from my lip and drove away the mint. Had the icy mint pierced my lip? Certainly I couldn't bite my own lip with this foreign taste inside my mouth.
Flash. I saw ice. Pale, yellow light reflected off of its surface. Melting, the icy mint had completely vanished from within me.
Pain. The yellow light was extinguished. I sensed no more.
Author's Note: Mix the song Face Down, Kel/Joren and my opinions on that pairing, a crazy writer, and the first few chapters of Squire and this is what you get. There's one more part to this which I have yet to write. Hopefully, I'll be able to write it and post it before spring break.
