A Sister's Love
Disclaimer: I own nothing
Summary: On Halloween many years after the Wizarding War, Petunia visits Lily's grave in Godric's Hollow, and talks to her, wishing that Lily was still here with her.
Petunia pushed the kissing gate open, the autumn breeze rippling her black sweater, wavy blonde hair billowing behind her.
She had divorced Vernon, and now she had a new boyfriend named Mark.
Dudley and Mark had decided to let her come and mourn alone, as they knew that she would shed a lot of tears over her deceased sister's grave.
She walked to Lily's grave, tears filling her light brown eyes, and she crouched down.
"Lils... It's been so many years... I'm sorry..." Her voice faltered slightly as tears streamed down her cheeks.
"I'm sorry for calling you a freak... I was a child back then, and I didn't know how to fight the jealousy... I know I treated Harry in a bad way, but I... I wanted to stamp the magic out of him, to save him from your fate, because he was all that I had left of you... I love you, Lils... Please forgive me... On that day in Halloween, I lost you, my sister, my best friend. Rest in peace, Lily. Here are some flowers for you." Petunia laid down several white lilies onto the grave, and brushed the dust off.
She had chosen lilies, because they were her sister's favorite flower, alongside the petunia. Petunia sat beside the grave, crying, while stroking the marble.
Someone approached her, and as she looked up, she saw the brilliant green eyes of her nephew, Harry.
Petunia stood up, and faced her teary-eyed nephew.
"You didn't just lose a mother that night in Godric's Hollow. I lost a sister too..." She said softly, before walking out of the cemetery, tears running freely down her face.
Little did she know, a transparent figure was watching her, crying as well.
"Goodbye, Tuney... I missed you, and I'll always watch over you..." Lily Potter whispered, and her voice caught on the wind. For one moment, Lily and Petunia locked eyes for the first time in decades. Then slowly, they both turned away, tears dripping down their faces.
