Disclaimer: I don't own Tale of Two Cities. That is owned by the talented Charles Dickens

The little boy lay smiling. He knew that his time on earth was through but he also knew he lived a happy 3 years. He had a sister who loved and protected him. He had two parents who adored him and he had a happy life. One tear fell from his eye because he knew his family would grieve his loss. He was holding on for them. But he was so tired. He just wanted the hurt to stop. But his sister... he couldn't leave her.

"Chandler," Little Lucie said softly opening the door to her little brother's room

"You shouldn't come in," he said softly, "You might catch what I have."

"I'll not come too close," Little Lucie said, "I'm coming in to tell you something. I love you. I don't want you to leave and I will miss you if you go but I'm setting you free. I know you have to go. I don't want you to leave but I don't want you to stay either. You'd be in too much pain. If you want to go... I know I will see you again"

Chandler smiled and mouthed thank you to his older sister as he closed his eyes for the very last time and woke up in the arms of his Heavenly Father. It would be 17 years before he saw his earthly dad again 29 years before he saw him mother and nearly 60 years before he saw his older sister again but for Chandler it seemed only a moment. In heaven there is no time. In heaven there is no waiting. You are set free. You are safe and happy and know you will be with the ones you love again.
