He wasn't there when I needed him
No, he was never around
His reputation was preceding him
And he was out on the town
"I'm going out for a few hours," Dean said walking out of the motel room. This was code for 'I have bottled my emotions up for so long now I'm going to get shit drunk.' Sam had heard this code for most of his life first from his father, who was drinking away the pain of Mary's death. And now his brother, who is drinking away the pain from looming apocalypse. It was the Winchester way; when the going gets tough, they tough get drinking. Sam never was a true Winchester. He knew the true reason Dean was going out so often (to drink and not get laid), to escape him. After the sneaking behind Dean's back with Ruby leading to releasing Lucifer out of his cage, everyone blamed Sam for the apocalypse even though he had been played since before he was born. Sam knows Dean blames him for everything, hell so does Sam himself. He understands why Dean is never around except when they are either hunting or sleeping. The later not really applying to Sam, with Lucifer haunting his dreams he tries to avoid sleep. He had been successful for the last 2 and a half days, but this streak was not going to last. Every time Sam blinked, his eyes dropped. He drank coffee non-stop, so much so that his body had grown immune to the caffeine. Within a few minutes Sam fell into slumber. If Dean had been there, he would wake Sam up; stop him from being tempted to saying yes. Sam needed Dean, but he never was around. Sam started to dream.
"Hello Sam," The devil smiled.
