You've got this new head filled up with smoke
i've got my veins all tangled close
To the jukebox bars so frequent
The safest place to hide.
Mordecai walked down the sidewalk. It was fall. Dead leaves littered the sidewalk. He arrived at the coffee shop, only it was closed. It had been closed for 6 months now. And boarded up. Ever since Margaret left for college, the Coffee Shop stopped seeing profits and went out of business. It was a ghost town in there now.
That didn't stop Mordecai from spending time to himself in there.
A long night spent with your most obvious weakness
You start shaking at the thought you are everything I want
'Cause you are everything I'm not.
Mordecai thought about how close he had gotten to Margaret, and how close Margaret had wanted to get close to him. But alas, she didn't, and chose school over love. It was a bittersweet cliche of modern society.
He thought about that moment in the ballroom when she broke the news.
And how she broke him.
It's not like they don't communicate, though. Margaret hasn't failed to email Mordecai about her latest boyfriends when she gets the chance.
And we lay, we lay together just not
Too close, too close (How close is close enough?)
We lay, we lay together just not
Too close, too close
I just wanna break you down so badly
Well I trip over everything you say
I just wanna break you down so badly
In the worst way.
Mordecai remembered everything about Margaret. How she walked, how she talked, how she drank. He and Rigby loved getting hammered at McHooligan's alone, but when Margaret came it was a party. She was always a fun drunk.
She was so cool.
Sometimes, Mordecai thought if he did anything that could have made Margaret choose her school over him. Did he get to attached? Too clingy? Too affectionate? Had he driven her away? Just how close was close enough?
My inarticulate store bought hangover hobby kit
It talks, it says, "You, oh, you are so cool."
All he wanted was to hold her red-feathered hand one more time. He recalled how vibrantly colored her feathers were, how he could spot her a mile away. She had a perfect figure, very slim, very cute. It made Mordecai fawn over her adorableness while also increase his pent-up sexual desire for her. In other words- he missed her in every way, shape or form.
"Scissor shaped across the bed, you are red, violent red."
You hollow out my hungry eyes
You hollow out my hungry eyes
And we lay, we lay together just not
Too close, too close (How close is close enough?)
We lay, we lay together just not
Too close, too close
He wanted to Make Dame Sure that she could never leave.
I'm gonna make damn sure that you can't ever leave
No, you won't ever get too far from me
You won't ever get too far from me
I'll make damn sure that you can't ever leave
No, you won't ever get too far from me
You won't ever get too far from me
You won't ever get too far from me (ever get too far)
You won't ever get too far...
And he failed.
