This is my fanfic for AutumnReign's new unique challange. It's my first challange I'm trying so... wish me good luck?
I don't own the song or House of Anubis.
After my husband died, it was hard, but then, Nina was born. She was the one to make me smile after I havn't smiled in months.
One day, my daughter, Nina's mother, and husband, Nina's father, went on vacation and Nina stayed with me. She was four and she was scared of the darkness and couldn't sleep.
I sat next to her bed and was holding her hand. "Gran," she whispered and I smiled at her. "Yes, sweetie?"
"Would you sing me a song? Mommy always sings me a song." She looked up at me with her big brown eyes. "Of course. Would you like to hear the song that I always sang to your mother when she couldn't sleep?" I smiled, remebering of all those nights when I held my daughter's hand just like I do now with Nina. She nodded and I started singing.
I took my love and I took it down
I climbed a mountain and I turned around
And I saw my reflection in the snow covered hills
Well the landslide brought me down
Oh, mirror in the sky what is love
Can the child within my heart rise above
Can I sail through the changing ocean tides
Can I handle the seasons of my life
Well I've been afraid of changing
Cause I built my life around you
But time makes you bolder
Children get older
I'm getting older too
Well...
Well I've been afraid of changing
Cause I built my life around you
But time makes you bolder
Children get older
I'm getting older too
Well I'm getting older, too
So, take this love and take it down
Yeah and if you climb a nountain and you turn around
And if you see my reflection in the snow covered hills
Well the landslide brought me down
And if you see my reflection in the snow covered hills
Well maybe
Well maybe
Well maybe the landslide will bring you down
It's been twelve years since that day. Nina's parents died in a car accident on their way home from the vacation and Nina stayed to live with me, I was her guardian.
Now we were standing on the airport. Nina was leaving, she was moving to a boarding school in England. I didn't know how I would let her go.
"Gran," I smiled, I always loved it when she called me. "Don't be so worried, I promise you I'll be just fine. And I'll call you every day and it'll be like nothing has really changed." She hugged me, tears in her eyes. I knew she was trying to hide them, so I said nothing about it. "I'm going to miss you, Nina" I whispered to her ear. "I'll miss you too" she said and picked up her suitcase. "It's time, I need to get on my plane" she hugged me one last time.
"Bye!" Nina started walking. She grew up and became such a wonderful person. You know how they say, children get older.
I really hope I followed the rules, but I'm not sure. Does it counts a songfic or an akward kind of story. If it is, so I'm sorry, but I still hope that you liked reading it!
