Chapter 1: Prologue
"It's over, it is finally over." Said Hermione, as we stood over the body that was once Lord Voldemort, her face covered in blood from the battle.
She looked at me with those beautiful brown eyes, and for the first time since we've known each other I finally said the words she has been waiting to hear. "I love you Hermione, I love you with all my heart and soul." It felt good to finally say what I've known to be true for some time.
That's when her lips met mine in a passionate kiss; I deepened the kiss and we both started fighting for dominance, several moments later we heard a clearing of a throat. We broke away from each other to fine Harry standing there, he went a little pale for a moment and I realized my fangs were out. I quickly retracted my fangs and lowered my head slightly.
"Merlin I have no control whatsoever" I thought and Hermione must have noticed because she frowned slightly and took my hand in hers and squeezed giving me quick reassurance that I didn't hurt her at all.
He became less tense when I took his hand in that moment, "he really needs to stop beating himself up for every little thing that happens" I thought.
It suprised me that I didn't hear the footsteps well at least until they were right behind Hermione, Before I even noticed who the people were the lead Death Eater shouted something Incoherent, but I would recognize that green flash of light anywhere so I did the only reasonable thing one would do to save someone they love, I pushed her out of the way with enough strength to only knock her down, I realized as soon as I pushed her I didn't have enough speed to get out of the way. "I love you Hermione."
I hit the ground with less force then usual as I saw the green bolt of light hit him, right before it happened he shouted with all his might "I love you Hermione." With that the green flash was gone and he lay there in the grass, not moving in the slightest.
