AN: This is my first 300 story and I am sorry if it sucks, but I really wanted to give it a try because the story itself, the history of the event is just amazing and I loved the movie and the relationship between Gorgo and Leonidas. Basically this is a test to see how I do in this fandom and if you all think I should write more or not.

They had never needed words to convey how they felt about each other. Since they had been children Leonidas and Gorgo could read each other's minds in a sense. A simple look told them everything they needed to know. It was part of the reason they made such an effective king and queen. The whole of Sparta could tell the king and queen shared one heart even though they would never admit it. Everyone in Sparta knew that was absolutely no room for weakness and expressing love, unless they were in private, was seen as a weakness. Fo course the king and queen could get away with it once in a while, but both Leonidas and Gorgo preferred to keep their more intimate moments in their bedroom or whatever place they were able to find privacy.

The day he left, the last day his queen ever saw him alive, was the same day he took three hundred men to fight for the honor of Sparta, for her honor, for his people, and for his son. They had both known he wouldn't be coming back from this battle and while her heart was breaking as she watched him leave, queen Gorgo could not be prouder of her husband; dying in battle was the noblest of ways to die and a fitting death for a king. 'Come back with your shield or on it', was the closest she could get telling him she loved him and how proud she was of her love, her king. Giving Leonidas her necklace had been enough for him to know and that's what she had wanted; for him to know, though he had probably already known considering he knew her better than she knew herself at times.

He did not kiss her when he left, but he did caress her cheek and that meant just as much, if not more, than a kiss because it relayed affection. The touch was short, his way of telling his beloved goodbye, but Gorgo felt as if it had gone on forever. When he and the other men were out of sight, the queen took a few seconds to get a grip on her emotions as she looked down at her son. Leonidas would always be there in a way, he would be there through their son who was more like his father than anyone knew. Yes, her husband and king were gone in the physical since forever, but he would live forever in legends and in her memories.

"Goodbye my king, my love, my heart." The words were a mere whisper, so low even her son couldn't quite make them out. "You give your life in battle for what you know is right and my heart goes with you as it always has."

END!

AN: This was just a short drabble, but I do hope you all liked it.

Please R&R like always!
