The Pirate's Daughter

Chapter 1

Elizabeth Swann, King of the pirates, was furious at her father. This in itself was nothing new and her husband watched the argument with interest before pouring himself a glass of rum. His wife and his father in-law both had fearsome tempers and Will had learned years ago not to get involved. "I can't believe you lied to me about mother! You told me she died when I was a child!" Elizabeth yelled at her father, who gritted his teeth and tugged on a lock of his wig, a sure sign of his mounting temper.
"I loved her, and you've always known that. She left of her own will and she abandoned both of us!" Governor Swann yelled at his pirate daughter, who fell silent.
"I'm going to find her. Will, let's go!" she snapped, and Will swallowed what was left of his rum and stood up to follow her. He wasn't stupid enough to stand in her way, he knew firsthand just how stubborn she could get.

"Jack, I need your compass." Elizabeth said once they got back on her ship and Jack looked up from his sadly, empty, bottle of rum.
"For what, love?" Jack asked with a flirty grin at Elizabeth and Will rolled his eyes. Will and Elizabeth had been reunited for five years after Will's curse was broken and Jack still hung around, flirting with Elizabeth and constantly drinking the rum. Will knew that Jack's flirting was joking, mostly.
"I'm going to find my mother. She was a pirate." Elizabeth and Jack looked up at her, all joking and flirtiness gone from his face.
"That would explain your love for pirates and adventuring then." Jack said, and Will nodded. He had said the exact same thing when Governor Swann had told them the truth about his former wife.
"She used to tell me stories, but I never realized that she was telling me stories about her adventures. I was only nine years old when she left." Elizabeth said, and a look of pity crossed Jack's face before he hid it. Jack knew Elizabeth didn't want his pity, just his help. Jack nodded and handed it over and Elizabeth flipped it open.

It took them three days to reach Tortuga to find a new crew and another day to find Jack. They finally found him in a brothel with a bottle of rum in one hand and his other arm wrapped around a woman sitting on his lap. At the stony look on Elizabeth's face, Jack quickly sobered up and stood up, dumping the woman on his lap onto the ground, quickly hurrying out of the brothel with Elizabeth hot on his heels after one last cold look at the woman who had been sitting on Jack's lap.

They had just left Tortuga when they were attacked by a pirate ship, Elizabeth's crew either surrounded or outnumbered. A female pirate strolled up to Elizabeth and froze as she saw Elizabeth's face, an almost identical match to her own. "Elizabeth, my darling daughter." Callisto Swann said softly as she gently touched her daughter's cheek and hugged her stunned daughter, who after a moment, hugged her back.
"Mother?" Elizabeth said in a hushed voice as she hugged the older pirate woman back.
