Blue River
He watched the summer sky flow by, the endless expanse numbing him with a pleasant laziness.
Lying down unmoving in the soft ground, just out of the corner of his vision, if he decided to focus and concentrate more, the grass swayed with the wind, currents of the world.
"BOO!"
Suddenly knocked out of his lethargy, he swung his torso up, and drew a kunai and held it against the intruder's throat all in a split second. Then he noticed the large lavender eyes staring down at him with a mixture of surprise and amusement.
She smiled.
"Kakashi, you're an idiot."
Embarrassingly drawing back his weapon, he lifted himself up off the ground more, and sat up straighter.
"Why are you here?" he asked grumpily.
"Because I'm always here, dummy. Anyways, happy 14th birthday!"
Her eyes crinkled into those heartwarming lash-lined arches he secretly liked seeing, and promptly stuffed a flower wreath onto his head.
Mumbling a protest through his mask-covered mouth, but not really caring, he laid back down again as Rin crouched next to him.
Both their eyes watched the same stretch of blue forever as the time rolled by.
