Another songfic! Somewhere in S3. The gaang is all downhearted and sad after the events in Ba Sing Se but especially Katara. When she disappears to be alone Aang follows her to cheer her up even though he is down in the dumps too. I made them do a duet. I thought at first they wouldn't sing but then I thought "Hey! They would say this to each other any way!" So they are singing! Kataang of course!

The events that happened previously had scarred the gaang emotionally. A dark cloud had settled over the group and ultimately their fate. With Ba Sing Se fallen, the Fire Nation practically ruled the whole world. The gaang tried to keep their hopes up but they had little faith. The day of Black Sun was approaching fast. They would need to gather up an army in the little time they had left. Katara was the worse of the group. She felt so scared and alone. Nightmares of that dreadful night when Aang almost died filled her mind. All of the negative "What if?"s surfaced in her mind about the Final Battle. What if Aang died? What if he didn't win? What if? What if? What if? "Excuse me. I need to take a walk," Katara said glumly standing up from dinner. With a hesitant look to his comrades Aang stood up using his staff and followed her. When he found her he saw that she was sitting at the river crying. Quietly walking up to her he sat down and wrapped his arms around her. Unfazed by his sudden presence she turned and cried into the crook of his neck.

When the song was through Katara scooted up next to Aang again and wrapped her arms around his shoulder, pressing her cheek against his. "Thanks, Aang," she whispered. He turned his head and smiled softly at her before leaning in to give her a kiss.
When they broke apart they resumed their positions and gazed off at the sunset over the mountains. As if not wanting to break the silence he whispered,
"Anytime…"
