Memories beneath a starry sky
Ash walked out onto the balconey of his rented apartment, leaning on the guardrail. He could remember the times when he was young and reckless, and perhaps ageless as well. Oh how he longed for the times when he ran wild and free with his friends, traveling from region to region, capturing and befriending pokemon, meeting both new and old friends along the way.
"It's a time we all wish for, eh Pikachu?"
The little yellow pokemon in question was curled up at his trainers feet. He had awoken when Ash had spoken to him, and now scrambled up to the blackette's shoulder, considerably slower when he was younger and always ready and raring for a battle.
Pikachu tilted his yellow head with red cheeks. "Pika?" He asked.
"You can remember to, right Pikachu? When we were both young and foolish, reckless and brave, hoping to become a champion one day?"
Pikachu nodded. Age had also come with wisdom and patience. "Pika-chu!" The little yellow pokemon bobbed its head up and down in agreement.
"We didn't know it back then, but we were champions, weren't we? Our own champions. Remember Misty, May, Dawn, Iris, Brock and all the others? When we all had that reunion together, we sat beneath this very same sky. If I can remember correctly, it was quite starry that night too. Just like this one."
"Pika pi. Pika-chu!" The little electric mouse smiled as the memories came flooding back to his mind.
"I can too Pikachu, I can too." Ash sighed as he straighten up from leaning on the guardrail. "Well, I'm going in Pikachu, you comin?" Hearing this, Pikachu raced inside between a gap in the sliding door. As Ash turned to enter the warm atmosphere of his house, he turned back one last time to look at the beautiful night sky.
"G'night my friends, wherever you are. Good luck with your travels, battles and overall, your life. Thank you, for giving me so much. I can only wish I will ever be able to give you in return." Ash smiled in the cool, crisp breeze. "Goodbye," He murmured. "I hope we will meet again, one day."
As he finished his speech, he turned and walked into his apartment, leaving the world to ponder his words.
