A/N: I found this little drabble floating around in my fanfic folder and I realized I haven't posted it yet so here it is.

Disclaimer: The usual. Not mine. Just borrowing.

"Maura come on, I don't want to spend my only afternoon off before the Presler trial watching spiders having sex and murdering each other" Jane says, her tone boarding on whiny as big brown eyes plead with her girlfriend. Maura sighs, her shoulders rounding slightly as she looks down, bottom lip tucked between her teeth. Jane stays rooted to the spot for a second, torn, before sitting on the couch behind her, cuddling into her warmth as she brushes silky blonde strands aside so she can place a gentle kiss on the smooth skin of Maura's neck.

"I can think of something way more fun than watching TV" she purrs suggestively, the gravel of her voice brushing Maura's ear hoping to convince her- anything was better than the documentary she had picked out.

"But Jane, I have been waiting all week to watch this, the mating habits of spiders in the Amazon are simply fascinating." She replies, relaxing back into Jane's arms.

"I can be fascinating too" Jane says, toying with the edge of Maura's oversized sweater. She was just stalling at this point, unwilling to concede but knowing it was a losing battle, saying no to Maura always was.

"I know you can but you aren't a spider" Maura chuckles as Jane grumbles under her breath, tightening her hold slightly.

"It's not fair you know" this time Jane's voice is definitely a whine and Maura places her hands on top of Jane's, squeezing gently.

"What isn't fair?" She asks patiently, brows drawn together in confusion.

"This, it happens every time you want me to do something you know I won't like" the rise and fall of her voice is unnecessarily dramatic, bringing a small smile to Maura's lips.

"Can you elaborate?" She questions, causing Jane to huff and Maura can imagine the incredulous look she is getting from behind.

"Every time you really want me to do something you give me the look and I can't say no."

"The look?" Maura asks, turning so she is facing Jane. "What look?" Her eyebrows furrow, the corners of her lips tilted downwards as bright hazel eyes focus all their attention on her, pleading.

"That one" Jane grumbles, leaning in to place a gentle kiss on her lips, partly to make the look go away but mostly because she couldn't resist when Maura was this close to her.

"Oh, I'm sorry Jane I didn't realise. So you can't say no?" She asks, frowning in equal parts confusion and apology.

"Why do you think I go shopping with you?" Jane replies, "Well besides for the view" she quirks an eyebrow and Maura laughs, swatting her playfully.

"Jane" she scolds, still smiling.

"You love it."
