I watched from the forest ever since I can remember. Observing was so much easier than facing. I always knew that I was different from the other tree nymphs. For one, when they'd bleed, their blood was green, like mother earth's while mine was bright red like the children of Adam. They seemed rooted to their forest and the clan, while I felt far off and distant. Not to say they were unkind, quite the opposite really. They always treated me like their own, however I wasn't their own, and I could just feel it. Each time I asked it was always the same story, that family was connected through the roots of the heart not the blood, but that was a load of rubbish preached by the inner circle of the tree-mother. They were all kind and forgiving, while I was temperamental and rather ruthless in comparison. They all obeyed without question and I always rebelled with many. I am thankful for their patience with me, because if I was in their place, I wouldn't have had a drop. However, every rebel eventually runs away from home, and I did the day I met Tom Riddle.
