Part 2
Let's ignore for the moment the rather bewildered Vulcan who turned up during the council meeting at the time when everyone was arguing. He was only there very briefly and it could just have been a transporter malfunction. In any case no-one noticed him being as how, a: he had pointed ears and b: he was wearing robes. And so onto…
First Palantir Recording – The fellowship on the way south to the Redhorn gate.
The scene opens as Boromir is teaching Merry and Pippin how to fight with swords.
Gandalf and Gimli are talking and Gimli notices some black dots in the distance.
"Is it a cloud?"
"Is it a plane?" asks Merry the rest of them look at him, wondering what 'a plane' is. Merry himself is very confused as he has no idea why he said that.
Legolas yells that the approaching dots are 'crebain from Mordor' and the fellowship take cover under bushes etc. If anyone notices the red clocked figure with an S emblazoned on his chest who is flying overhead they don't mention it.
(end of first recording) Zog continues his report.
The fellowship continued on their way up Caradhras when Legolas mentioned he heard a fell voice in the air. Gandalf later admitted to me it sounded more like someone singing 'Let it Go' so I did..let it go that is. It seems that Legolas was also the one who saw a heavily armoured polar bear with a girl on its back and by this time I knew we had serious problems (sorry issues!).
Second Palantir Recording – outside the Mines of Moria
Merry throws a stone into the pond and an ominous black fin appears circling in the water accompanied by some dramatic music. This distracts Pippin who was also going to throw a stone and Aragorn who was going to tell them off for throwing stones. Gandalf is discussing how to open the doors and Frodo suggests it's a riddle and asks what the Elvish word for friend is.
"Mellon!" Gandalf pronounces and is hit on the head by a large green skinned fruit.
