Rose

"A rose by any other name would smell as sweet."

So claimed Juliet, but I disagree.

Love should be as it is

Untainted,

Unharmed,

Unchanged.

This little rose, petals crimson red like your penetrating eyes,

Leaves as jade as my tearful eyes,

Thorns as sharp as the blade that pierced you,

Scent as intoxicating as your smile.

Who could ever ask for more?

This love is forbidden,

Frowned upon,

Questionable.

Yet I fear nothing.

I dare not look back at who I used to be.

Do you?

Do you understand this feeling?

This longing?

This love?
Are you lonely like the single rose sitting in a black vase?

With no one to comfort you?

Do you like being alone?
Do you enjoy the day in and day out routine of nothingness?
Is the darkness inside your soul taking over?

I don't care.

I fear not that black blood that flows within your veins,

Which is now inside my own body.

Flowing like a river, too strong to grasp, thus your body just lets it run its course.

Two hearts intertwined in a fate worse than death.

Are we to be the star-crossed lovers?

I promise I will love you unconditionally.

Will you swear to me that same oath?

This rose I swear to protect.

Its petals like your lips, soft to the touch.

Its thorns warn me of harm, but I bear the pain.

Its scent drawing me in until we share a moment of bliss.

Gem

Glistening like the jade gem, your eyes reflect all that is pure.

Your hear is like that of a precious stone,

Hard to grasp but such a beautiful sight.

Your love is like that of a diamond,

Colorful emotions glisten in the light of your smile.

You are my crowned jewel, priceless to me.

I never grow weary of your harsh expressions of passion,

Of love.

Who am I to deserve such a partner like you?
My jade gem,

My Maka.
