It was a rainy day in Seattle. The clouds were passing over the huge building of the city. Nothing unusual, a day like everyone in Seattle, but not for Derek.
His wife had arrived today, and he didn't know how he should feel about it. At first he wanted to be angry and yell mean things at the woman who broke his heart, but for some reason he couldn't.
Derek wanted to hate Addison so badly, his had told him to yell the hell out of her, but his heart thought otherwise. Deep down Derek knew that he would always love Addison, no matter what. And because of that he avoided his wife the whole day. It scared him a lot that he couldn't let her go after all what she did to him.
But late in the afternoon, just as he wanted to leave the hospital and the thoughts of his wife as well, he saw her. She was leaning against the nurse station, with a look on her face which he had never seen before. She looked so sad, he just wanted to take her in his strong arms and never let go. But he couldn't do that. Because if he did so, he would have to admit that she was still the only one for him, that she was still the reason why he woke up every morning, that she was still the love of his live. And for that he was too proud. But Derek couldn't let go of her either. The truth was that he had missed her so much, it nearly broke his heart. Every night we wished that she was in his arms instead of the little blond. And now she was really here, beautiful as ever, and asking for a second chance. And suddenly, Derek knew what to do.
He went over to the nurse station, grabbed Addison's arm and pulled her into an empty exam room. "Derek, what are you doing?", she asked angrily, as he finally let go of her and locked the door. "Listen, I'm really sorry I came here. I have no right to be in Seattle after all what I did to you, I will pack my things and take the next flight back to New York. Could you now please let my out?", Addison asked hopefully.
But Derek was heartbroken. How could she think he wanted her to go back to New York? He didn't know how he could prove to her that he was still in love with her, but suddenly Derek knew what to do. He grabbed her arm again, pulled his wife towards him and pressed his lips against hers. "She tastes exactly the same", he thought and had to grin, but his lips never left hers. As the both of them needed to breath, they leaned their foreheads against the other and closed their eyes, feeling as happy as at the day they married. And Addison knew that Derek wanted her in Seattle, that he wanted her to move in with in, that he wanted to wake up beside her every morning. As Addie finally was able to study her breath back to normal, she gave Derek one of these gorgeous smiles, which was one of the reasons why he fell in love with her. Addison's eyes sparkled, and Derek could see through them into her soul. He new her inside out and so did she. Husband and wife knew that there was a lot of work to do before they could go back to the happy married couple they once were, but they loved each other, and that was all that mattered.
