I Won't Listen

As Gibbs walked out, Ducky started talking to the body on the autopsy table.

"Ahh…Christopher, you've left us a bit of a mystery."

Harry returned to the autopsy room, opening the door to tell Ducky thanks for the help. Harry never forgot to thank anyone these days. He saw Ducky leaning over the body holding out the autopsy report as if for show the victim what it was.

"Give me some direction." Pointing to the report Ducky asked, "What should I be looking for in this autopsy report?"

"Do you always talk to the body's Doctor?" Harry asked, honestly intrigued as to what the answer would be. Ducky jumped at the sound of the newest agent to Gibbs team.

"Why of course, they have all the answers my boy." Ducky replied.

No one had called Harry 'my boy' since Dumbledore and Harry found himself liking it when the old doctor said it.

"Do they ever answer?" He asked. Ducky could see the honest curiosity in Harry's eyes, there was no mockery coming from the young boy, there was also sadness in his gaze. Sadness that Ducky could tell haunted the youth every day. That sadness compelled Ducky to answer truthfully.

"Yes Harry they do." And it was the truth, for although Ducky never heard them speak, his questions were always answered. A weight seemed to have been taken off Harry's shoulders, but as Ducky turned back to the NCIS agent on the autopsy table he heard the quiet murmur of the newest agent. "They speak to me too Doctor, they speak to me too."

Harry looked away from the Doctor and his work to a space just behind the autopsy table. There, looking vaguely transparent with blood running down his neck stood Agent Christopher Pacchi, the very man lying at that moment on the table. Harry shivered as the man looked at him. The man opened his mouth as if to speak but Harry shook his head. No, Agent Gibbs was wrong, the dead don't talk. Not if Harry won't listen.
