A/N: This is for the Fanfiction Challenge Round Two. It turned out to be a lot harder than I had thought at first. And I've re-written this countless times but here we go. I'd say it's a drabble.

Pairing: Reid/JJ

Song Prompt: Beautiful Soul by Jesse Mcartney

Lying in the hospital bed watching Spencer Reid hold his new Godson JJ couldn't help but smile; it was a beautiful sight to behold. His slight awkwardness and awe as he held the tiny newborn in his arms touched her heart. Spence and Henry, Henry and Spence. She had never known that Spencer Reid would play such a big part in her life when she first met him, but he was now intertwined throughout it all, from the minutae right up to the big things.

She and Will had chosen Spencer with without a shadow of a doubt that he would be the best godfather he could be. The boy genius was more of a "man genius" now (although that didn't have quite the same ring to it) and JJ would trust him with her life, as well as the well being of her child if – god forbid – anything ever happened to her and Will. She knew that her good friend, with his big brain and just as big heart, would dote on him like no other.

She had been right. Reid refused to talk in a "baby voice" to his godson, spouting some fact about babies' receptiveness even at such a young age, instead opting to talk to him as if he was a fully grown adult, although JJ could detect a further softness in his eyes as he told him all sorts of facts and stories.

As his godson grew, he wanted Henry to always have the best in life and, like Garcia, he showered him with gifts, but unlike Garcia, his were vibrant and eclectic books that he would read to him with fervour, always encouraging the growing boy to question things and JJ could see where and how Reid was rubbing off on her son as he grew and as the years passed.

Spencer's own unique view on the world helped to keep Henry on track as he grew up and as he questioned more about the world he knew that "Uncle Spencer" was quite often the one to ask. Sometimes JJ felt that Henry was almost a miniature version of Reid, and she knew that that definitely was not a bad thing sometimes. Her son was a smart, inquisitive child who idolised his daddy and his godfather and she knew that he was going to turn into a wonderful man one day with Reid as one of his role models.

Sometimes it truly was a sight to behold, the beautiful boy and the man with the beautiful soul.
